Meet Your Coach...

                                                                                            Michael D Cheatham

I spent 25 years as a consultant helping companies transform their businesses through technology and process design. That work taught me something I didn't expect: the same principles that make organizations antifragile — systems thinking, feedback loops, iterative improvement — also make individuals antifragile. The difference is that organizations have frameworks for this. Most people don't.

I've been studying personal transformation for over 40 years. Not as a hobby. As a discipline. I've read thousands of books, completed coach certifications through the NeuroLeadership Institute (Results Certified Coach), ThoughtAction, and BrainFirst (Applied Neuroscience). I've worked with the Octalysis Framework — Yu-Kai Chou's gamification model — and applied systems thinking to personal development in ways most coaches don't.

But credentials are just credentials. What matters is what works.

The Antifragile Life approach is built on three foundations:

  1. Science-based. The brain science on behavior change is clear. Willpower is a finite resource. Habits are not built through motivation alone — they require environmental design, feedback loops, and a framework that accounts for how the brain actually works, not how we wish it worked.
  2. Multidisciplinary. Real transformation doesn't live in one domain. It lives at the intersection of neuroscience, systems thinking, design thinking, psychometrics, and mental models. I draw from all of them because life doesn't sort itself into academic categories.
  3. Gamified, not gamified-for-show. The Octalysis Framework identifies 8 core drives that motivate all human behavior. Most productivity advice only targets one or two. My coaching maps all 8 and designs systems that make progress feel inevitable, not painful.

Here's how I work with you.

We start by mapping your current reality as a system — not as a list of problems. Most coaching asks "Where do you want to be?" and skips the question "Where are you actually standing?" I don't skip that question.

We identify the specific constraints, patterns, and feedback loops that are keeping you stuck. Then we design small, strategic experiments — not overwhelming life overhauls — that let you test hypotheses about what works for you, in your actual life.

We measure everything. Not against arbitrary benchmarks, but against your own trajectory. Progress is not a feeling. It's a data point.

And we iterate. When something doesn't work, we don't call it failure. We call it data, adjust the experiment, and run it again.

The bottom line is this: I will help you build a way of operating that is stronger, clearer, and more adaptive than the one you have now. Not by giving you a perfect plan. By giving you a better way to think, act, and adapt.

If you want to know if this approach is right for you, we can start with a Discovery Call. No pitch. No pressure. Just a focused conversation to see if the framework fits your situation.
